SEO tools in wp-admin

The plugin brings four brokenlinkchecker.io SEO tools into wp-admin. By the end of this page you will know what each one does in WordPress and where it saves changes.

Plan: all four tools work on every plan once the site is connected, Free too. Your plan on brokenlinkchecker.io sets the limits of each tool.

Before you start#

Each tool has its own page in the Broken Links menu. Until the site is connected, each page shows a preview with sample data and a connect button. Connect your site walks through it.

The data lives on brokenlinkchecker.io, so the plugin and the website show the same numbers. A change made on the website can take up to five minutes to show in wp-admin.

If brokenlinkchecker.io cannot be reached, a tool page shows a "Could not load" card with a Retry button.

Rank Tracker#

The Rank Tracker shows where your site ranks on Google and Bing for your keywords.

1. Open Rank Tracker in the Broken Links menu.
2. Under Track your first keywords, type one keyword per line, or separate them with commas. The idea chips help you start.
3. Pick the search engine, the device and the market.
4. Click Start tracking.

Each keyword uses one keyword slot for each engine and each device. The page shows how many slots you use and how many your plan has.

The results table shows desktop and mobile positions side by side. It adds the change, the best position and an eight-week trend. Refresh now checks positions again, within your weekly refreshes. Export CSV downloads the table as a file.

Tracker settings holds the search engine, the default device, email reports and a public report link. Track your first keywords explains the tracker in full.

SEO / AEO Audit#

The audit scores your site out of 100 and lists what to fix first.

1. Open SEO / AEO Audit in the Broken Links menu.
2. Pick Full site or One page. For one page, enter its URL.
3. Click Run audit.

A full-site audit reads the pages your site publishes, starting with the homepage. Your plan sets how many pages one audit covers. The page tells you when your plan covered only part of the site.

The report shows the score, the biggest lever and a fix queue grouped by the points you can win back. You can share the report, download it as a PDF and open past audits. Run an audit covers the audit itself, and Read the triage explains the report.

Fix titles and meta descriptions with AI#

On title and meta description issues, click Fix with AI. Each suggestion shows the current text as Now and the new text as Suggested.

Click Apply or Skip on each one. Nothing is saved until you apply it.

The plugin saves the new text in your SEO plugin. It looks for Yoast SEO, then Rank Math, then SEOPress, and uses the first one it finds.

Without an SEO plugin, a new title replaces the post title, which visitors see on the page. A meta description cannot be saved at all.

These fixes need a paid plan. They use the same monthly AI fixes as broken link fixes.

Internal Link Optimizer#

The Internal Link Optimizer suggests links between your own pages. It also finds pages that nothing links to.

1. Open Internal Link Optimizer in the Broken Links menu.
2. Under Post types to read, tick the post types to include and click Save selection.
3. Click Run analysis. The plugin sends your published pages to brokenlinkchecker.io.

The results come in five tabs: Suggested links, No content links, Dead ends, Buried pages and Weak anchors.

Apply and undo suggestions#

Each suggestion shows the anchor text, the page it goes on and the page it links to. A preview shows the paragraph Now and After.

• Approve marks a suggestion to apply later. Apply all approved applies them together.
• Apply adds one link to your post right away.
• Skip sets a suggestion aside.
• Undo puts the post back the way it was before you applied.

The plugin only adds a link where it finds the exact text in plain paragraph content. It leaves page builder and shortcode content alone and asks you to add those links in the editor.

Undo fails when someone edited the page after the link went in. Restore an older revision in the WordPress editor instead.

Your plan sets how many suggestions you get each month and how many pages one analysis reads. Internal Link Optimizer plan limits lists them, and Run the optimizer covers the tool on the website.

AI Visibility Tracker#

The AI Visibility Tracker checks whether AI assistants mention your site when people ask them questions. The page carries a BETA badge.

1. Open AI Visibility Tracker in the Broken Links menu.
2. Type your prompts, the questions your customers ask. The Try: line suggests a few.
3. Click Track prompts.

The tracked prompts table shows ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI side by side. Each cell reads Cited with a position, Absent or Pending. The data refreshes once a week.

Run check now starts a check outside the weekly schedule, once a day.

Every tracked prompt uses credits. Pro Business includes 10 credits and Pro Agency includes 10. Free and Pro Personal include none, and credit packs are sold as an add-on. Prompts and credits explains how credits work.
