02 · Definition
What is an internal linking tool?
An internal linking tool analyzes how the pages of a website link to each other. It crawls the site, visiting pages one by one the way search engines do, and turns that into internal link analysis: which pages are easy to reach, which are not, and where new links would help most.
03 · Capabilities
How are link suggestions generated?
Each suggestion names a source page, a target page and proposed anchor text, based on topical match between the pages. You approve or skip each one. Nothing is inserted automatically.
How deep are your pages?
Click-depth analysis shows how many clicks each page sits from the homepage. Pages deeper than 3 clicks get flagged: both users and crawlers rarely reach them. The SEO & AEO Audit flags structure problems like these. This tool fixes them.
Can you fix broken and missing links together?
Yes. Broken link data from the Broken Link Checker appears in the same view as link suggestions, so dead links and missing links get fixed in one pass, page by page. The combined view works on the web, in WordPress and on Shopify. Suggested links are approved one by one, never auto-inserted.
Which pages have no internal links?
Orphan pages are pages with no internal links pointing to them. The report lists every one, found by comparing your sitemap against the crawl. Orphan pages rarely rank: search engines find them late and treat them as unimportant.
What anchor text do you use?
The anchor text overview lists every phrase used to link to each page. Generic anchors like "click here" get flagged, and over-repeated exact-match anchors are highlighted so link text stays natural.

Frequently asked questions
What is an internal linking tool?
An internal linking tool maps how your pages link to each other, finds pages with too few incoming links, and suggests new links to fix the gaps. This one adds click-depth analysis, anchor text review and broken-link data in the same view.
What are orphan pages?
Orphan pages are pages with no internal links pointing to them. They exist in your sitemap but nothing on your site leads there. Search engines crawl them rarely and rank them poorly, and visitors can only find them through search or a direct link.
How many internal links should a page have?
At least 3 incoming internal links for any page you want to rank, and more for important pages. There is no fixed upper limit, but links should be topically relevant. The tool flags every page below 3 incoming links by default.
Does internal linking improve SEO?
Yes. Internal links pass link equity, the link value that flows between your pages. They help search engines discover and understand content, and they keep visitors on the site longer. It is one of the few ranking levers fully under your control, with no outreach or budget required.
How are link suggestions generated?
The tool compares page topics across your site and proposes links where content overlaps: a source page, a target page and ready anchor text. Suggestions prioritize orphan and deep pages. You review each one. Nothing changes on your site automatically.
Can I fix broken internal links in the same tool?
Yes. Broken link results from the checker appear alongside link suggestions in one per-page view. You remove or redirect dead links and add missing ones in the same pass. The combined view works on the web, in WordPress and on Shopify.
How do I check internal links on my website?
Run a crawl. A crawler visits your pages one by one and records every internal link it finds, which is the only reliable way to see them all. The free scan above checks up to 50 pages with no signup and reports your orphan pages and weakest spots.
How do I find all internal links to a page?
Open the per-page view. It lists every incoming internal link to that page with its source page and its anchor text. Pages with zero incoming links are marked as orphans, and pages below 3 incoming links are flagged as weak.
How do I track internal links over time?
Scheduled scans on paid plans re-crawl your site monthly or weekly and compare each run against the last. New orphan pages, deeper click depth and lost links get flagged, so structure problems surface before they cost rankings. New products and posts are the usual source.
What is click depth?
Click depth is the number of clicks it takes to reach a page from the homepage. A page at depth 2 is two clicks away. Pages deeper than 3 clicks are a problem: visitors rarely dig that far, and search engines treat deep pages as less important.
