What is a Bing rank tracker?
A Bing rank tracker records where a website ranks in Bing's organic results for chosen keywords, on a fixed schedule. Each check stores the position, the ranking URL, the market, the device and the date. A Bing SERP checker answers the same question once. The tracker repeats it and keeps the history, so you see when a position moved.

What does a rank tracker add to Bing Webmaster Tools?
A rank tracker adds exact Bing positions for keywords you choose, checked on a schedule, for any domain. Bing Webmaster Tools reports your own verified site's queries with clicks, impressions and an average position. The two answer different questions.
Your keywords, not only past queries
Webmaster Tools lists the queries Bing already showed your site for. The tracker checks the keywords you pick, including ones where you do not rank yet. A keyword outside the top 100 shows as >100, so you see the gap.
One position per market and device
Webmaster Tools reports an average position across many searches. The tracker records one position per keyword, market and device, read from a live Bing results page. Each check keeps the ranking page too.
Any domain, shared with clients
Webmaster Tools only opens sites you have verified. The tracker follows any domain, such as a client site. Share the rankings as a read-only page with an optional password.

How does IndexNow help your Bing rankings?
IndexNow helps Bing find new and changed pages sooner, so your rankings reflect your latest content faster. It is an open protocol. Your site pings participating search engines each time a URL is added, updated or deleted.
How it works
Your site hosts a key file and sends changed URLs to an IndexNow endpoint. The IndexNow network shares each submission with every participating engine. As of September 2026, indexnow.org lists Bing, Naver, Seznam.cz, Yandex and Yep.
Why it matters on Bing
Bing can only rank the version of a page it has crawled. A ping does not promise a crawl or a ranking. It raises the odds that Bing discovers your change quickly.
Seeing the change sooner
A recrawled page can move at the next ranking check. The tracker checks every Monday, and the Daily add-on checks every 24 hours. brokenlinkchecker.io does not send IndexNow pings for you, so set them up on your site or CMS.

Do Bing rankings matter for Copilot?
Yes. Microsoft Copilot grounds its web answers in Bing search, so pages that Bing indexes and ranks well are more likely to be used.
Indexing comes first
A page missing from Bing's index cannot show up in Bing results. Bing Webmaster Tools shows whether Bing has indexed a given URL. Fix indexing before you chase positions.
What this tracker records
The tracker records Bing SERP positions, the organic results a person sees on bing.com. It does not read or score Copilot answers. Treat your Bing positions as a signal, not a Copilot reading.
AI answers elsewhere

How does Bing rank pages differently from Google?
Bing ranks pages with its own index and its own algorithm, so the same page often sits at different positions on each engine. Bing names its main ranking parameters in its public Webmaster Guidelines. Our blog walks through the nine differences between Bing and Google SEO.
Relevance and quality
Bing checks how closely a page matches the intent behind a search. It also weighs the quality of the page, the reputation of the site and the credibility of the author.
Engagement and freshness
Bing looks at whether searchers click a result and stay, or return to rephrase the query. It generally prefers pages that keep their information up to date.
Location and speed
Bing considers where the searcher is, the language of the page and where it is hosted. It prefers pages that load fast, because slow pages give a poor experience.

Where is Bing strongest?
Bing is strongest on desktop, and its desktop share in the United States is well above its share worldwide. In August 2026, StatCounter put Bing at 12.9% of desktop searches in the United States. Worldwide, Bing held 8.9% of desktop searches and 4.6% across all devices in the same month. It also holds a larger desktop audience in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and parts of Western Europe.

Bing is the default search engine in Microsoft Edge in most markets. Track desktop positions first if your buyers search from work computers.

How is Bing rank history stored?
Each check stores the Bing position, the ranking page and the date, per market and per device. History is kept for 1 month on Free and up to 3 years on Pro Agency. The Change column compares each reading with the one before it.
How do Bing keywords count against your plan?
Set the project's search engine to Bing in the tracker settings, and each keyword uses one position. Pick both engines and each keyword uses two, one for Google and one for Bing. Tracking both costs no extra money.
Why compare Bing and Google positions?
The gap between the two engines shows where Bing already favors you and where it lags. Set the project to Both and the Bing and Google tabs sit side by side. The same tracker handles Google rank tracking on its own too.

How do I switch a project to Bing?
Open Tracker settings
Open the project's Rank tracker and click Tracker settings at the top. A new project tracks Google until you change it.
Pick Bing or Both
Under Search engine, pick Bing, or Both to keep Google as well. Both counts twice against your positions pool.
Read the Bing tab
Bing positions arrive from the next ranking check. Positions from an engine you stop tracking stay on their own tab as history.
