Every keyword is tracked in one market and on one or two devices. By the end of this page you will know which markets you can pick. You will also know what each device and engine costs from your positions pool.

Pick a market

A market is one country plus one language. You pick it in the Market menu when you add keywords. The menu starts on the market of your project, which is United States · English for a new project.

The tracker offers these markets:

  • United States · English
  • United Kingdom · English
  • Canada · English
  • Australia · English
  • Ireland · English
  • New Zealand · English
  • India · English
  • Germany · German
  • Austria · German
  • Switzerland · German
  • France · French
  • Belgium · Dutch
  • Netherlands · Dutch
  • Spain · Spanish
  • Mexico · Spanish
  • Italy · Italian
  • Portugal · Portuguese
  • Brazil · Portuguese
  • Sweden · Swedish
  • Norway · Norwegian
  • Denmark · Danish
  • Finland · Finnish
  • Poland · Polish
  • Japan · Japanese

You cannot enter a city or a custom location. Each search runs for the whole country in the chosen language.

A keyword keeps its market

The market is fixed once you add a keyword. You cannot add the same keyword again under a second market. So pick the main market for each keyword before you add it.

To track keywords in several markets, add them in separate batches with a different Market each time. When your keywords span more than one market, filter chips appear above the table. Click All or a market to filter the rows.

Pick a device

You pick Desktop, Mobile or Both in the Add keywords form. The keyword keeps that device.

Both adds the keyword twice, once for desktop and once for mobile. Each copy uses its own position. An icon next to each keyword shows its device.

To change the device the form starts on, open Tracker settings. Under Device, pick the default for new keywords and click Save settings.

How devices and engines add up

Each keyword uses one position per device and per search engine. The engine setting covers the whole project. Track your first keywords shows where to set it.

Keyword setup Positions used
One device on one engine One
Both devices on one engine Two
One device on Google and Bing Two
Both devices on Google and Bing Four

Your positions pool is shared by every project on your account. A setting change that would overflow it is refused, and nothing changes.

Bing keyword data by market

Bing positions work in every market. Bing search volume, cost per click and competition exist only for markets in English, French or German. In other markets, those columns show · on the Bing tab.
