The Tracked keywords table holds every keyword of the project with its latest position. By the end of this page you will know what each column means. You will also have exported or deleted keywords in bulk.
The charts above the table
Three charts appear once the first positions arrive. Each one shows its value over time.
- Visibility estimates the share of clicks your positions can win. A higher position counts for more.
- Estimated traffic estimates your monthly visits from these keywords. It combines search volume with the clicks each position tends to get.
- Average position is the mean position of your keywords. A keyword outside the top 100 counts as position 100.
Engine tabs and filters
A project with positions on both engines gets a Google tab and a Bing tab next to the table title. Each tab shows the positions and keyword data of that engine.
The subtitle says how often positions update and when they last did. It reads "First check running" while the first positions are on their way.
When your keywords span more than one market, filter chips appear above the table. The flag next to each keyword shows its market.
The columns
- Keyword: the keyword with its market flag and device icon. Drag the edge of the column header to widen it. Double-click the edge to reset the width.
- Position: the latest position, such as
#4. It shows>100when your site is not in the top 100 and "Checking…" while a check runs. - Change: the move since the previous reading. ▲ means the keyword moved up, ▼ means it moved down.
- Best: the best position the keyword has reached.
- Search vol.: the monthly searches for the keyword in its market.
- CPC: the average cost per click advertisers pay for the keyword.
- Intent: letter chips for informational, navigational, commercial and transactional intent. Hover over a chip to see its share.
- Competition: advertiser competition as Low, Medium or High. "Very low" means no advertiser data exists for the keyword.
- Ranking page: the page of your site that ranks. "/ (Homepage)" means your home page. Click the path to open the page.
- Checked: the date of the latest reading, or "Today".
A · means there is no value yet. Click a column header to sort by it. Intent and Ranking page do not sort.
While positions or keyword data are still on their way, the table reloads by itself. You do not need to refresh the page.
Act on several keywords
- Tick the box at the start of each row you want. The box in the header ticks every visible row.
- A bar appears above the table with the number selected.
- Click Refresh, Export CSV or Delete.
Refresh checks the selected keywords again and uses one of your weekly refreshes. Refreshes and schedules explains the weekly count.
Export to CSV
Export CSV downloads a file named after your domain and today's date. It has one row per keyword, engine and device. The columns are Keyword, Engine, Device, Position, Best, Ranking URL and Checked.
Delete keywords
Delete asks you to confirm that you want to stop tracking the selected keywords. After you confirm, their positions return to your pool at once.
Deleting a keyword also deletes its position history. Export the keywords first if you want to keep a copy.
