Fix with AI in the plugin

Let the AI find a checked replacement for one broken link or for all of them at once, and apply fixes sent from the brokenlinkchecker.io dashboard.

Fix with AI finds a working replacement for a broken link and puts it in your post. By the end of this page you will have fixed one link and a whole batch with AI.

Plan: Fix with AI needs a site with Pro. Pro Personal includes 200 AI fixes a month, Pro Business 1,000 and Pro Agency 5,000.

Before you start

  • Connect the site to an account on a paid plan, and make sure the site holds a Pro slot. Connect your site shows how.
  • Turn on Fix with AI. Open the plugin's settings, click the SEO tab and switch on Fix with AI.
  • Use version 3.0.3 or newer of the plugin. Applying fixes from the website needs 3.0.4 or newer.

On a site without Pro, the row action shows a PRO chip instead.

  1. On Broken link scan, hover over a broken link and click Fix with AI.
  2. Wait while the window shows "Analyzing…".
  3. Pick a replacement and click Apply fix. Every option was checked live before it reached you.

When no working page turns up, the window says so. Click Remove link to drop the link and keep its text. A View archived version button appears when the Wayback Machine has a copy.

The window footer shows how many AI fixes you used this month.

The Fix with AI card sits at the top of Broken link scan.

  1. Click Fix all with AI. If the setting is off, the button reads Turn on Fix with AI. One click switches it on.
  2. Confirm the number of links. Dismissed links are left out, and each link uses one fix.
  3. A progress bar shows "Analyzing broken links" and counts the links checked.
  4. The Review AI fixes list opens. Click Apply or Skip on each row, or click Apply all suggestions.

A row can also say "Remove link, keep its text". That means no live replacement turned up.

One batch covers 500 links, so run Fix all with AI again for the rest.

If you reload the page, a running batch picks up where it left off. Click Close review to end the batch.

Fix with AI works on links it can find in the post's saved content. It skips images, comments, sliders and links built by a page builder.

In a batch, those rows say "Cannot fix automatically. Edit the post directly." Fix them in the editor that built them.

Apply fixes from the website

You can also run Fix with AI on brokenlinkchecker.io and send the fixes to WordPress. The site needs plugin version 3.0.4 or newer.

  1. Open the project on brokenlinkchecker.io and run Fix with AI there.
  2. Click Apply in WordPress, or Apply on a single row.
  3. The plugin picks up the fixes and edits every published post that holds the link.

A fix can fail when the link lives in a page builder or a slider field. The website then marks the row as failed. Fix broken links with AI covers the website side.

Your monthly AI fixes

  • One link uses one fix, including a recommendation to remove the link.
  • The counter resets on the first of each month.
  • The count is shared. Link fixes from the plugin and the website draw from it, and so do SEO audit title and description fixes.

When you run out, the plugin says "You reached this month's AI fix limit", and a bigger plan raises it. Change or cancel your plan shows how.

What the AI receives

To find a replacement, the plugin sends the broken link and its context to brokenlinkchecker.io.

Nothing is written to your post until you apply a fix.
