Fix links in the plugin

Edit a broken URL, replace it across every post, unlink it, mark it as not broken, dismiss it, re-check your links or open an archived copy.

The plugin fixes broken links right from the results table. By the end of this page you will know every fix action and when each one appears.

Plan: every action on this page is free, except Fix with AI and View archived version. Those two need a site with Pro.

The actions sit under the URL on Broken link scan and show when you hover over a row.

Find

Find opens the page that holds the link, so you can see it in context. Use it for links the other actions cannot reach.

Edit URL

  1. Click Edit URL on the row.
  2. Type the new address. The note reads "Every occurrence of the old URL in this post is replaced."
  3. To fix the same link everywhere, tick Fix all similar: replace this URL in every post where it appears.
  4. Click Save URL.

The plugin checks the new address once. A working link leaves the table, and a link that still fails comes back with its new status.

Fix all similar covers up to 200 published posts in one go. The edit does not change the post's last modified date.

Unlink removes the link but keeps its text in the post. The confirmation reads "The link is removed but its text stays in the post." Images have no Unlink action.

Not broken

Not broken tells the plugin the link works. The row leaves the table, and every future scan skips that address.

Use it for links that work in a browser but fail the automated check. Your Not broken list also survives Re-check all links.

Dismiss

Dismiss hides the row until your next scan. Use it for a link you plan to fix later. The next scan shows it again if it still fails.

Re-check all links sits at the top of the plugin's settings page. It clears every stored link status and your dismissed rows, then runs a fresh scan.

Links you marked as Not broken stay skipped.

View archived version

View archived version looks up the old page on the Wayback Machine and opens the closest saved copy. It appears on broken external links.

This action needs a site with Pro. Turn on Replacement suggestions in the SEO tab of the settings. When no copy exists, the plugin says "No archived version found for this URL."

Link to the archived copy when the original page is gone for good.

Edit URL, Unlink and Fix with AI need the exact URL in the post's saved content.

Links built by a page builder, a shortcode or a slider do not live there, and neither do comments. Those rows only offer Find, Not broken and Dismiss.

To fix such a link, open the page in its own editor, such as your page builder. Then run a new scan to confirm the fix.

What a fix changes

A fix only edits the text of your post. It swaps the URL or removes the link tag.

The plugin never creates redirects and never changes your theme. WordPress keeps a revision when your post type supports revisions.
