Read and filter results

The Broken link scan page lists every broken link and warning from your last scan. By the end of this page you will know how to read the table and narrow it down.

The summary at the top#

After a scan, the header reads "Scan complete" with the number of links checked and the scan time. Three tiles sit below it:

• BROKEN counts links that answered 404 or 410, or have a malformed address.
• WARNINGS counts links the plugin could not confirm, such as timeouts and server errors.
• HEALTHY counts links that work.

When nothing is broken, the page says so and shows how many links the scan covered. Before your first scan, it shows "No scan results yet" with a Go run a scan button.

The table columns#

• Broken URL is the link itself. Click it to open the address in a new tab.
• Status shows a badge such as 404 Broken, Timeout Warning or SSL Warning. A second badge says Internal or External.
• Type shows an icon for a link, an image or a file type such as PDF.
• Found in names the post that holds the link, with Edit and View links underneath.
• Content Type says Post, Page, Comment, Slider or the name of your custom post type.
• Date is when the scan found the link.

The table shows 20 rows per page, and the columns cannot be sorted.

Filter the table#

Three menus sit above the table. Pick an option in each menu, then click Filter.

• Status: All Statuses, Broken or Warnings.
• Type: All Types, Internal or External.
• Content type: All Content Types, Posts, Pages, Custom Content, Comments or Slider Content.

There is no filter by HTTP status code. Use the Status badge in each row for the exact code.

Row actions#

Hover over a URL to see what you can do with it. The actions are Find, Edit URL, Unlink, Fix with AI, View archived version, Not broken and Dismiss.

Some actions only appear when they can work. Fix links in the plugin explains each one and when it shows.

Clear the results#

Click Clear Results at the top to empty the table and the summary, while your settings stay as they are. Run a new scan to fill the table again.

Export#

The export buttons under the table are being fixed. For now, work from the table on screen. A site scan on brokenlinkchecker.io exports a CSV file, as the broken links table shows.

Past scans#

The Scan reports page lists your last 20 scans. Each row shows the Date, the Source, the Links checked, the Broken count and the Duration.

The Source reads Manual for a scan you started, or Scheduled for an automatic scan. Scheduled scans covers automatic scans.

The link at the bottom, Open crawl reports, takes you to your site scans on brokenlinkchecker.io.
