AI Visibility Tracker

What the AI Visibility Tracker measures

See whether AI assistants cite your site when they answer the questions your customers ask, and how often they mention your brand unprompted.

3 min read

The AI Visibility Tracker asks AI assistants the questions your customers ask. It then records whether the answers cite your site. By the end of this page you will know what each number on the page means.

Plan: every plan can open the tracker. Tracking prompts needs credits. Free and Pro Personal include no credits, so you buy a pack first. Brand mentions come with the paid plans.

Open the tracker

  1. Open a project from your Projects hub.
  2. Click AI Visibility in the sidebar.

The header asks whether your domain is cited when AI answers your customers. Below it, the page shows when the next check runs.

Tracked prompts

A prompt is a question you type, such as "best broken link checker for WordPress". The tracker puts each prompt to every assistant you track on the project.

One check is one prompt on one assistant. It records one answer and whether that answer cites your domain. The assistants search the web for every answer.

For Google AI Overviews, the check also records where your site sits among the cited sources. The chip then shows that position, such as "Cited #2". The other assistants report cited or not cited.

Each weekly check gets one answer per prompt and assistant. Answers can change from week to week, so a prompt may flip between cited and not cited.

Every prompt uses the market of its project for Google AI Overviews and the search volume. For a new project that market is United States · English.

The numbers at the top

  • Visibility score: the share of the latest answers that cite your site. It counts only the assistants the project tracks now.
  • Tracked prompts: how many prompts the project tracks.
  • Credits in use: the credits your account uses out of your limit. It also shows what one prompt costs here.
  • Next check: the date of the next weekly check.

The prompts table

  • Prompt: the question, with the date it was last checked.
  • AI searches: how often people ask AI assistants this question per month. "No AI searches" is a real reading of zero. "Not measured" means no reading exists yet.
  • Cited by: one chip per assistant. Each chip reads Cited, Not cited, Not tracked, "Not checked yet" or "Checking now".
  • Visibility: the share of assistants that cite your site for this prompt.

Brand mentions

On a paid plan, the tracker also takes a weekly brand reading. It measures how often assistants mention your domain without a prompt from you. This reading has nothing to do with your tracked prompts.

  • Mentions of your domain: the times an assistant named you unprompted. The change since the last reading shows next to it.
  • AI search volume: monthly questions where your category comes up.
  • Where you are mentioned: a bar that splits your mentions between Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT.
  • Cited alongside you: other domains the assistants recommend, with their mention counts. Five show at first. Click Show all for the rest.

The first reading arrives within seven days. After that, a new reading comes every seven days.
