The weekly scan runs every Monday morning for each project that qualifies. By the end of this page you will know why a Monday scan is missing. You will also know how to restart it.
Plan: weekly scans need a paid plan, and the project's domain must hold one of your Pro slots.
First, check whether it ran
- Open the project and click Scan reports in the sidebar.
- Look for a scan dated this Monday.
A Monday scan in the list means the scan ran. Then the question is the alert mail, covered further down.
The switch is off
- Open the project and click Scan settings.
- Check that Scheduled weekly scan is on.
The message "Weekly scan is on. It runs every Monday morning." confirms it.
Your plan does not cover the domain
The weekly scan runs only for domains that hold a Pro slot. The switch can still show on after your plan changed.
- You are on Free. Free has no weekly scans. The switch shows a PRO badge.
- Every Pro slot is in use. Domains beyond your slot count run with free features. Look for the PRO or FREE pill on the project card.
- Your plan ended. After a cancelled plan runs out, your account moves to Free, and weekly scans stop.
Pro slots and covered domains explains which domains hold your slots.
A scan was already running
When a scan of the domain is still running on Monday morning, the weekly scan skips that week. The next Monday it runs as usual.
The scan ran, but no mail came
The alert mail goes out only when the newest scan found more broken links than the scan before it. There is no mail when:
- The broken count stayed the same or went down.
- It was the first scan of the project, which sets the baseline.
- The weekly scan is off for that project.
The mail goes out at the next morning check, usually the same Monday morning. Alerts follow the weekly scan switch of each project. The Notifications tab of your account is marked coming soon.
Check your spam folder too. Alert mails come from hello@brokenlinkchecker.io.
