A weekly scan checks your site every Monday, with no click from you. By the end of this page you will have switched it on and will know when the alert mail arrives.
Plan: weekly scans need a paid plan, and the project's domain must hold one of your Pro slots. The Account and billing section explains Pro slots.
Turn on the weekly scan
- Open the project and click Scan settings in the sidebar.
- Turn on Scheduled weekly scan.
- A message confirms: "Weekly scan is on. It runs every Monday morning."
While the scan is off, the Project settings panel on Overview shows a Turn on → link. It takes you to the same switch.
To stop the scan, turn the same switch off.
What the weekly scan does
Every Monday morning, the scan crawls the whole site. It follows the same rules as a scan you start by hand:
- It uses your plan's page limit.
- It skips your excluded URL patterns.
- It follows your Remove URL parameters setting.
When a scan of the domain is already running, the weekly scan skips that Monday. Weekly scans count toward your monthly scan total. There is no daily or hourly schedule.
If your plan stops covering the domain, the weekly scan stops too. That happens even when the switch still shows on.
The alert mail
Every morning, we compare each project's newest finished scan with the scan before it. The check covers every project with the weekly scan on. When the newest scan found more broken links, you get a mail.
The subject reads "New broken links on" followed by your domain. The mail names the new broken count and the count from last time. Click See the broken links to open the project's Broken links page.
When no mail arrives
- The newest scan found the same number of broken links, or fewer.
- It is the first scan of the project. That scan sets the baseline.
- The weekly scan is off for that project.
Any finished scan counts, including one you start with Run scan. The mail goes out at the next morning check. For the weekly scan, that is usually the same Monday morning. There is no mail when a scan starts, finishes or fails.
Mail with your brand
On Pro Business and Pro Agency, you can save a white-label brand. The alert mail then carries your brand's sender name and reply-to address.
