Projects and public report pages

The public report page

Publish a public report page for your site. See what visitors get, what stays private, how to edit the page and how to switch it on or off.

3 min read

A public report page shows the link health of your site to anyone. By the end of this page you will have filled in the page, published it and chosen what it shows.

Plan: publishing needs a paid plan, and the project's domain must hold one of your Pro slots. On any plan you can prepare the page first and publish once you upgrade.

What visitors see

The page lives at brokenlinkchecker.io/report/ followed by your domain and a closing slash. It shows summary numbers only:

  • Your logo, the site name and a VERIFIED SITE mark.
  • One sentence with the scan date, the broken links, the links checked and the pages crawled.
  • Pages crawled, links checked, broken links split into internal and external, and warnings.
  • The health score, with bars for the past months.
  • The description, services, categories, social links and contact details you chose to show.
  • A link to visit your site, plus a share box with your badge.

What stays private

Visitors never see the broken URLs, the anchor texts, the pages that hold them or the status codes. Those details stay in your project, for you alone. Visitors see a prompt to log in, and only the owner gets the details.

Edit the page

  1. Open the project and click Public page in the sidebar.
  2. Fill in the Public report page panel:
    • Company logo: click Upload logo, or Fetch from website to pull it from your site.
    • Website name and Website description.
    • Categories: pick up to three.
    • Social links: your website link is already filled in. Add LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, Trustpilot or TikTok.
    • Services or products: each link must point to a page on your verified domain.
    • Contact information: business name, address, phone and email.
  3. Click Save changes.

The PUBLIC PAGE PREVIEW column updates as you type.

Write the description with AI

Click Generate with AI next to Website description. The AI reads your homepage and writes a description in three short paragraphs. If you have no categories saved, it picks them too. The text appears in a few seconds.

You get 5 generations per project a day. A failed attempt does not count. The AI needs a homepage that loads and holds some text.

Publish the page

Publishing needs a verified domain. Verify your domain shows the three methods.

  1. On the Public page tab, find the Visibility panel.
  2. Turn on Public report page.
  3. The panel confirms the page is live and shows its address.

To take the page down, turn the same switch off. That always works, on any plan.

Choose what the page shows

The Visibility panel also holds these switches:

  • Allow search engine indexing lets Google index the page, with a dofollow link back to your site. With it off, search engines skip the page.
  • Show company logo
  • Show description
  • Show your services
  • Show contact information

Click Save visibility after you change them.

Keep the numbers fresh

The page always shows your latest scan, with the date it ran. When you open your own page with a paid plan, it shows a SCAN AGAIN → button. The Scheduled weekly scan keeps the numbers current without a click.
