Getting started

Create an account

Sign up with your email address or your Google account. No password to remember, just a six-digit code sent to your inbox each time you log in.

By the end of this page you will have a free account and see your dashboard. Signing up and logging in are the same step, and there is no password.

Sign up with your email

  1. Click Login / Register at the top of any page on brokenlinkchecker.io. The Log in or sign up page opens.
  2. Type your email address and click CONTINUE WITH EMAIL →.
  3. Open your inbox. Look for an email with the subject "Your Broken Link Checker login code". It holds a six-digit code.
  4. Type the code into the Login code field and click VERIFY AND CONTINUE →.
  5. Your dashboard opens. If this was your first login, your account now exists.

The code works for ten minutes. After that, request a new one.

If the code does not arrive

  • Check your spam folder. The email comes from hello@brokenlinkchecker.io.
  • Click Resend code to get a fresh code. The earlier code stops working.
  • Click Use a different email if you typed the address wrong.
  • A message that says "Invalid or expired code" means the code is old or mistyped. Resend and try again.

Sign up with Google

  1. On the Log in or sign up page, click Continue with Google.
  2. Pick your Google account and approve the sign-in.
  3. Your dashboard opens.

Google and the email code lead to the same account when the address matches. So you can sign up with a code today and use Google tomorrow.

No password, ever

Your account has no password, so there is nothing to reset. Each login uses a fresh code or your Google account.

Log out

  1. Click Account in the sidebar of your dashboard.
  2. Find the Session panel.
  3. Click Log out. You return to the homepage.
